My name is Kareem A. J. Jones. I was born and raised in Oxford, Mississippi. I am one of six children. I graduated from Oxford High School. After graduation, I attended Northwest Community College where I earned my Associates of Arts in Secondary Education. I received my Bachelor of Arts in History and minored in English at The University of Mississippi. I received my Master's of Education in Counseling Psychology at Cambridge College. I have been working in mental health/child services for ten years. I spent six of those years working for Youth Villages (Bartlett Campus) in Bartlett, Tennessee as a teacher counselor, clinical liaison and residential counselor. I worked for Communicare in Oxford, Mississippi and Spectrum Academy in Nashville, Tennessee as a school therapist.
This is my first year as the school counselor at The Holly Springs Career and Technical Center. I am very excited about this school year, and looking forward to working with students, parents and faculty/staff at the Holly Springs School District. I want parents/guardians to know my goal as your child's school counselor is to encourage, empower, and enhance your child's life. I do not see myself as just a school counselor. I see myself as an educator, a life long learner as well as an advocate for your child. It is my goal to provide your child with the best educational experience I can give.
