On August 17, 2016, Holly Springs Career and Technical Center’s Law and Public Safety II students visited the Holly Springs Fire Department. Law and Public Safety Instructor, Jivaro Jones, is discussing fire safety and the fundamentals of firefighter skills with his second year students. To reiterate as well as visualize what has been taught in class, Assistant Chief Rodney Crane demonstrated the proper way of donning and doffing a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).  Crane also guided students as they simulated firefighters searching a structure with low to no visibility. Firefighter Chris Watts gave a tour of the department as he emphasized the significance of being trustworthy. Fire Chief Kenny Holbrook shared real-world experiences of the career, stressing the importance of functioning as a team. Special thanks to Holly Springs Fire Department for affording our students this great opportunity.
